Biography
Irene Jonas is a sociologist and freelance photographer. In parallel with her sociological research, she pursues a personal photographic work and follows a double approach, one in black and white, the other in painted photographs. Represented by the “révélateur” agency, her work is exhibited in galleries and festivals. In 2018, she won the first prize at the Fotomasterclass with her series “Dormir, dit elle” and her series “Cilka”, which was exhibited at Fotofever. Arnaud Bizalion Publisher has published her book “Dormir, dit elle”.
Last exhibitions
In 2019, the series “Dormir, dit-elle” is exhibited at Regards Croisés (Aix-en-Provence) and the series “Cilka” at the Centre d’art de Rocheservière. She has also exhibited at Point-Virgule (Langueux), at the Opéra de Rennes (Exhibition on the theme of the Phantom Ship and projection of 90 photographs on a quintet by Jean Cras with the Rennes Symphony Orchestra).
